FRIENDSHIP QUILT by Anna + PS One Kindergarden + 1st Graders:
Anna collaborated with kindergarden and 1st graders to create a quilt that incorporated the many ideas of friendship.
The children wrote poems about friendship. They choose words they used in their poems to make sunpainted fabric.
The children collaborated with photographer John Goodman to make photos of themselves with their favorite thing both in shadow and light to create photographic reveals which were used for either side of the quilt.
Anna introduced the sewing machine to the children, explained the quilting process and received the children's help in sewing parts of the quilt.
